I had some spare time on a sunny Saturday afternoon, so I decided to spend a few hours flying solo in the mountains of British Columbia. I decided to fly the 'Pemberton Loop' which took me North past Squamish, Whistler and Pemberton and then finally back down to the Lower Mainland via Harrisson Lake. Flying over Squamish I decided to check out a music festival that was happening that day, but it turns out it's hard to see even large crowds of people from 5,500 feet! Flying past Squamish towards Whistler provided a great view of the turquoise blue waters of Garibaldi Lake. Heading back South towards Harrisson Lake, I noticed a dome-shaped object on a mountain peak. I'm still not sure what it was, but my best guess is some sort of radio transmitter. Finally back in the Lower Mainland, I made a quick pit stop in Chilliwack before heading home to Boundary Bay. All-in-all, it was a nice relaxing flight with some beautiful scenery! (See 'Wrapping up The Pemberton Loop' for the second leg of the flight)
