Still figuring out my fuel gauge. I shows LESS than what is actually in the tank. I could have made it to River Ranch 2RR. Next time I will call 2RR to be sure they have fuel available. Calm day, but still thermals over populated areas. Fly around populated areas. Fuel gauge read just over 1/4 at rest (tail dragger). I used 10.1 gal and the fuel gauge was bouncing between E and 3/8. I should read slightly less than 1/2. My tank is 18 gallons. I just have to get used to that even though I always burn 4 1/4 gal/hr and have plenty of reserve. Trust your calculations and ignore your fuel gauge? Or just figure out how it really works. R2901 was hot. It always seems to be hot. I believe I heard the controller routing flights over 14000 and some through at 10000. R2901A is surface to 14000.
